ABOUT DR. SAVANNAH

Savannah Cryar, DACM, L.Ac, Dipl.OM, is a licensed acupuncturist in Encinitas specializing in stress and anxiety, hormone balance, digestion, and chronic pain.

Savannah Cryar’s path to Chinese medicine began in the kitchen, where her love of food naturally evolved into a fascination with health, balance, and the healing capacity of the body. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Culinary Arts from Nicholls State University and L’Institut Paul Bocuse, later working in renowned New York kitchens where she learned the artistry of intuition, presence, and the subtle alchemy of bringing elements together with intention.

After several years in the culinary world, Savannah traveled through Central and South America, a season that deepened her curiosity for the inner landscape. During this time, she completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training, expanding her understanding of embodiment and the connection between breath, movement, and emotional well-being.

Returning to the United States, Savannah felt called toward a path of deeper service. She enrolled at the Pacific College of Health and Science in San Diego, where she completed both her Master’s and Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. It was here that she discovered what she now considers her life’s work: the study of Chinese spiritual alchemy — the meeting ground between disciplines such as acupuncture, herbalism, pure philosophy, and religion.

Savannah is trained in the classical Five Element tradition, one of the original Daoist lineages of the Inner Tradition of Chinese Medicine. This approach places profound emphasis on the emotional and spiritual dimensions of health. In this lineage, symptoms are understood as meaningful expressions of a person’s inner state, and when the heart and spirit are at ease, the body naturally moves toward balance.

Her work integrates this ancient wisdom with modern understandings of the nervous system, allowing patients to experience relief on both physical and emotional levels. Sessions with Savannah are gentle, intuitive, and intentionally spacious, offering clients an opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and feel supported in the process of returning to themselves. Whether someone is navigating stress, hormonal shifts, chronic tension, or emotional overwhelm, this spaciousness creates the conditions where healing can unfold.

Clinically, Savannah often works with patients experiencing stress and anxiety, hormonal imbalances, digestive concerns, autoimmune conditions, chronic and acute pain, fatigue, fertility challenges, and emotional dysregulation. Her treatment philosophy is simple: to restore balance, ease suffering, and help each person feel grounded, clear, and at home in their own body.

Savannah is honored to offer her practice to the North County San Diego community and to support patients in their healing with presence, skill, and genuine care.

My Philosophy

I believe healing is a process of returning to the truest version of yourself. Symptoms—whether physical, emotional, or energetic—are not random; they are invitations from the body asking for attention, gentleness, and care.

In my work, I honor the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit. When the nervous system softens, when the breath deepens, when the heart feels safe, the body begins to unwind and rebalance on its own. My role is to support that process with presence, skill, and grounded intuition.

I practice from the understanding that each person carries an inner wisdom guiding their healing. Through acupuncture, Five Element theory, and restorative therapeutic support, my intention is to create a space where that wisdom can rise to the surface—so you can feel calm, centered, and at home in yourself again.

What I Support

My practice focuses on the interconnected nature of emotional, hormonal, and physical wellbeing. I commonly support patients navigating:

• Stress + anxiety
• Nervous system dysregulation
• Hormonal imbalance — PMS, cycle irregularities, peri/menopause support
• Digestive concerns — bloating, IBS, sluggish digestion, gut–mind patterns
• Chronic + acute pain — neck, jaw/TMJ, back, migraines, tension
• Emotional overwhelm + burnout
• Sleep disturbances + fatigue
• Autoimmune + inflammatory patterns
• Fertility and reproductive support
• Periods of transition, grief, or emotional stagnation
• A desire for clarity, grounding, and reconnection to self

My intention is always to support the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—so symptoms ease, balance returns, and you can feel like yourself again.

Savannah has been such a safe space for my body, mind, and soul. She is deeply intuitive, compassionate, and truly listens. I always leave feeling calm, uplifted, and restored. Investing in my health through her care has been completely worth it.
